Based in Millport on the Island of Cumbrae, Millport Pipe Band was formed in October 1962 from various existing sources including the local 1st Millport Company Boys Brigade pipe band. It is self funded and exists for the enjoyment of its members, the small community in which we live and the entertainment of tourists to our holiday island.

The band plays at many engagements over the year with the months of April till September being the busiest. We have played at some hugely varied events from Royal visits to TV programmes and some very obscure things in between!

We provide free tuition for anyone interested in learning to play pipes or drums and with a membership ranging in age from ten to seventy we are truly a family and community based organisation.

By far our main duties include playing for the entertainment of visitors to Millport and in supporting the other local organisations at their events. So please enjoy your visit and return from time to time as we seek to expand and improve on our ideas for our site.
